Pennsylvania Legislation Seeks to End Sanctuary Cities in PA

June 10th, 2008

Daryl

Good news for all Pennsylvania residents…. I wonder if Reading, Norristown and Philadelphia will get the memo that their days as “sanctuary cities” are numbered? I urge you to call your PA rep and tell them you support the entire legislation package sponsored by Daryl Metcalfe… It’s ALL good as they say and is a BIG step in the right direction for Pennsylvania.

I live near Norristown and it makes me SICK to see an entire section of the “West End” turned into a Little Mexico. The sign at the bottom of the strip says “Historic Shopping District” but it should say “Historic Puebla Mexico” instead. Several blocks of West Marshall Street are now exclusively Mexican restaurants, Mexican bodegas and even their own little indoor Mall called La Plazita.. A big real estate guy in the area even advertises his rentals IN SPANISH in that area. What is wrong with this picture???? Norristown USED to be Germans and Italians for the most part. Now it is almost 35% Mexican!!! And we are more than 2000 miles from the southern border. If I wanted to live near a border town I’d move to Texas or Arizona for crying out loud.

I have approached the Norristown Town Council and the Montgomery County Commissioners. All of them have felt it is “not their yob” to solve the invasion of illegal aliens into Norristown. One particular councilman, Bill Procyson, makes the point that the Mexicans are “nice” and why should it be his problem to pick out who is here illegally? My point - we shouldn’t have to wonder at all - that is if our GOVERNMENT was DOING ITS JOB.

Now with this legislation package - people like Bill Procyson won’t get to say - “not my yob” and they will be forced to deal with the growing problem of an increasing TAX BURDEN without an increasing TAX BASE from the invasion of illegal aliens into our state and our towns.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

Last summer, Digger and I attended a press conference in Philadelphia with many of the people leading this charge. Read about it here on Digger’s Realm

Here is an excerpt from a 2003 article in The Times Herald which tried to answer the question - Why Norristown?

Puebla and Acapulco are the two largest sending cities, officials said. But nobody is sure who was first or why Norristown was chosen. Officials only have assumptions. The most widely accepted beliefs are:
1. Immigrants arrive in larger cities and towns such as Philadelphia and West Chester, naturally sprawling to Norristown.
2. Inexpensive housing in Norristown encourages immigrants to establish lives here, rather than more expensive surrounding townships.
3. The abundance of service jobs in landscaping, retail, restaurants and hotels creates a demand that immigrants supply. Mexican immigrants are most often single men working in these jobs six to nine months of the year, who return to Mexico for the rest of the year.
4. Once immigrants establish homes here, they send for their families and friends, and in turn, these families and friends tell more people, creating a domino effect.
5. Less than 500,000 immigrants each year stay in the country. Though it looks like many immigrants are here, what people mostly see are immigrants in the country using temporary visas.

The journey is not easy.

Some people have visas and other proper documentation to live in the United States, but about half of the Mexican population does not.

“It’s not easy to make that decision - to leave behind everything you know,” said Miguel Dones, president of Conecciones, a social services and economic organization serving the Norristown community.   Officials from the United States and Mexico agree that the reason for the great wave of immigration is money. “The opportunities are on this side of the border,” said Deputy Consul Jacob Prado of the Mexican Consulate of Philadelphia. “Nobody wants to leave their hometown or families. If they come here, it’s because economic opportunities are available in this country.”

There you have it. Remove the ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES for illegal aliens and they will not come here!

More on how the population of Norristown has changed from the same article:

Between 1990 and 2000, Norristown’s Hispanic population jumped nearly 400 percent, with most of the expansion within the last five years.

Nobody is exactly sure why thousands have chosen to live here, but Norristown has the largest population of Hispanics in Montgomery County.

While the Hispanic population increased by nearly 2,500 individuals, the total population of the borough only increased by 500 people.

This means at least 2,000 non-Hispanics moved out of Norristown, while 2,000 Hispanics moved in.

In the early and mid 90’s, Puerto Ricans were the largest Hispanic minority in Norristown, but now Mexicans have taken over that distinction.

The entire reason for controlling immigration and enforcing immigration laws in ANY country is to prevent the cultural hijacking of any part of a country through large numbers of “immigrants” - legal or illegal - to a community. The reasoning behind immigration control is to PRESERVE the cultural identity of our towns and cities. But instead we have allowed the population of Norristown to be INVADED through a 400 PER CENT INCREASE in Hispanics - most of whom are here illegally. I hold the leaders of Norristown fully responsible for allowing this to happen and I whole heartedly support the efforts by Daryl Metcalfe and others at our state government level for leading the charge to turn this tide and reclaim Norristown and other places in Pennsylvania for the native population.

Striking Changes in Arizona as Illegal Immigrants Flee the State

May 20th, 2008

Hoo Ha.. Who woulda thunk it? Clearing out illegal aliens in a state actually has a NET benefit! This should silence all of those people who say our economy might collapse withouth the labor of illegal aliens. Funny how an economy can rebound when you remove the PARASITES.

Full article on gopusa.com

Since Arizona’s local law enforcement began enforcing illegal immigration laws and an employer sanctions law went into effect, illegal immigrants have been fleeing the state in large numbers. The effects have been far-ranging. Commuters are reporting fewer vehicles on the freeways, shortening their rush-hour commutes. What had become a serious transportation problem in Arizona is losing its urgency. viva la migra English Learner Language (ELL) students started dropping out of school. This helped end a confrontation between the state legislature and a liberal federal judge who had ordered the state to spend more money on ELL classes.

Fewer illegal immigrants are using hospital emergency rooms, so waiting times have decreased. Although the rest of the country is in an economic slump, unemployment is going down in Arizona, from 4.5% in January to 4.1% in March. Day laborers loitering outside of Home Depot and other stores have mostly disappeared, ending months of confrontation between illegal immigrant sympathizers and protesters. Desert lands near the border are returning to their pristine condition and the wildlife is coming back. Identity theft and car thefts are decreasing. No one showed up on May 1 to march in immigrant rallies.

With illegal immigrants leaving, the state will see huge savings as fewer illegal immigrants use social welfare programs and the cost of arresting, prosecuting, incarcerating and deporting them decreases. Arizona is facing one of the worst budget deficits ever, looming as high as $2 billion in 2009, but the situation may resolve itself.

It’s wonderful that we are getting to see this experiment in action so that the lies and propaganda being spread by the open borders zealots can be silenced for good. Arizona can become a shining example for the rest of the country. THIS is how you fix the problem of illegal immigration!

North Carolina Community Colleges Will No Longer Admit Illegal Aliens

May 13th, 2008

This is a VERY good sign. We need more states to start thinking this way and clear out our public schools of illegal aliens as well. They have NO RIGHT TO AN EDUCATION ON OUR DIME DAMMIT!

RALEIGH, N.C. —  North Carolina’s community colleges will no longer admit illegal immigrants, returning to more restrictive policy on the advice of the state Attorney General’s Office.

Last year, the system said it would enroll illegal immigrants who are 18 years old and high school graduates at all of its 58 campuses. The policy provoked heavy criticism, especially from the leading candidates for governor.

The system later asked North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper for guidance on whether the admissions policy was legal under federal law. Last week, Cooper’s office suggested the system drop the admissions policy.

On Tuesday, the community colleges said it would follow the advice from Cooper’s office.

Let this be an example to ALL community colleges. Americans are sick and tired of you giving away our tax funded benefits to illegal aliens.  We have become the welfare program for needy people in ANY country and we are strained beyond belief with paying out more and more and getting less.  Enough is enough!  Illegal aliens need to GO HOME and fix their own countries and that includes Visa overstays and Visa abusers too!

Governor of Rhode Island Cracks Down on Illegal Aliens - Cites High Costs to State

April 26th, 2008

Gee what do you know? Illegal immigration is costing the state money? According to Geraldo Rivera and many others who support ILLEGAL immigration - illegals contribute more to the economy than they take away.. Guess that is only true if you try to cover up exactly how much they are costing by burying their statistics and NOT counting ILLEGAL immigrants and instead mixing them in with legal immigrants by calling them all “foreign born”. This has been the trick of our pro-illegal government to hide the actual costs of illegal aliens - by using code words to bury all of that information. Once you start extracting THE TRUTH, the numbers are STARTLING and this is what the Governor of Rhode Island found when he issued his executive order to get to the bottom of it.

Illegal Immigrants, Partly Blamed for State Budget Crisis, Face Crackdown in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island’s closest international border is the Canadian one, about 200 miles to the north. About 11 percent of the 1 million people who live here were born in another country, and estimates say that a third or fewer of those people are in the country illegally.

But Gov. Don Carcieri says illegal immigration has become such a problem — and cost the state so much money at a time that it is grappling with a $568 million budget deficit — that last month he signed an executive order directing state police to crack down on illegal immigrants.

Now here is something that really flips my lid. Apparently “religious leaders” are jumping into this political debate over illegal immigration. Last I heard, religious organizations are tax exempt BECAUSE they are not permitted to participate in influencing our government. If these religious “leaders” want to jump into this political debate and try to influence it, then they need to give up their tax exempt status and pay like everyone else!

After meeting with concerned clergy Friday, Carcieri refused to rescind his order. But he agreed to create an advisory committee that will monitor how it is enforced.

I applaud this Governor and those in the State Government who support him. He now joins the short list of politicians with a SPINE such as Tom Tancredo, Mayor Barletta, Dana Rohrabacher, Ted Poe and Duncan Hunter.

Carcieri has denied the timing of his order was politically motivated. He faults Congress for failing to reform national immigration policy and said the state government must enforce the law.

Democratic Rep. Jon Brien backs Carcieri’s order and has submitted legislation to take it a step further by requiring every private employer in the state to use the same federal database to check the immigration status of their new hires.

“The workforce in the state of Rhode Island should be a legal one,” Brien said. “It puts everyone in the state on a level playing field.”

The state’s agreement to enforce immigration law is still being worked out, but State Police Maj. Steven O’Donnell said once in place, it will allow officers to inquire more deeply about the immigration status of anyone they contact if there’s a reason to think they are here illegally. That could be people who are arrested, motorists stopped by police or witnesses who report crimes.

Oh and here it comes.. the same old argument about “profiling” and shows the pro-illegal lobby is clinging to anything they can use to make it more difficult to enforce the law. Here it is in plain language - if you are not breaking the law, if you have come here legally and you have proof, you have nothing to worry about from the crackdown on illegal immigration. If you are here illegally, then you SHOULD be afraid and that means the crackdown is WORKING AS INTENDED! I don’t give a DAMN if illegal aliens are afraid - they have come here illegally and dammit they SHOULD be afraid and they SHOULD be living in the shadows. We don’t want people “living in the shadows” - we want them to GO HOME or come here legally!

Critics warn of racial profiling, and fear the measure will make illegal immigrants scared to contact police if they are a victim of crime or witness one happening.

Juan Garcia, who works with immigrants at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Providence, held a meeting about Carcieri’s order shortly after it was signed. Anxious people wanted to know if they could still renew their driver’s licenses or pay state payroll taxes without being identified as illegal immigrants, he said.

Like I said before WORKING AS INTENDED!!!! Where can I sign up to help IDENTIFY ILLEGAL ALIENS? And here’s a point I don’t know that I have heard and it’s an opinion I have had all along. Why exactly do you think there is such a backlash against Mexican/Hispanic illegals and not as much against Asian illegals? BECAUSE THEY ARE SMARTER AND THEY ASSIMILATE EVEN WHEN THEY ARE HERE ILLEGALLY. They don’t go around speaking their native language and flaunting it. They don’t stand out by waving flags from their native country and shooting American patriots the finger. They don’t go around demanding rights. They keep quiet. They learn English. They blend in. Had Mexican and South American illegals done this, do you think we would have noticed really? We would have wondered why our economy was being drained and would not have realized perhaps it was the flood of illegals. But instead, Latino illegals are arrogant and they are proud to live in a country illegally and get over on us. They are proud to wave the flag of the country they fled from which I really don’t understand AT ALL. If your country is so great, then WHY ARE YOU HERE????
