Report: Protest of Vicente Fox in Wilkes Barre Monday November 5th
November 6th, 2007
Dan from Digger’s Realm and I traveled to Wilkes Barre Monday night to protest ex-Presidente Vicente Fox,
who was scheduled to be a guest of Wilkes University as a speaker as part of their Outstanding Leaders Forum - sponsored by the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business at Wilkes. It’s ironic that Wilkes chose Vicente Fox as an example of exemplary leadership, when just recently stories have recently surfaced about corruption probes into his administration and a statue erected to Vicente Fox was torn down and destroyed by “his people” just recently as well.
So is Wilkes going to invite President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad next in their forum on excellent leaders? Or maybe Fidel Castro?
Back to the protest Monday night. The group estimates range from 40-100. Without a real head count it’s hard to know for sure. It was viewed as a very good turnout for a Monday evening.
Many of the attendees
drove for close to 2 hours to be there. Our thanks to Voice of the People USA for organizing the rally and to 9/11 Families for a Secure America for paying for the ballroom where we met at the Ramada Inn prior to the Fox protest.
There were just two speakers at the Ramada Inn before the protest, Frank Scavo and Dan Smeriglio of Voice of the People USA. The intent was to have speakers after the protest, but after we got rained on and it was so late, there were a lot fewer people on hand after the protest, which is not a surprise… So, many of the speakers did not get to speak, even though they traveled for hours to do so. I attribute that to the learning curve of a new group made up of young inexperienced people. They have 100% of their heart in this and they are learning the ins and outs of holding rallies and protests as they go. So I don’t fault them for their inexperience. We are very happy to have their generation stand with us in this fight - because we mostly fight for THEIR future, not our own.

At 7pm we all filed over to the park in front of the FM Kirby Center, where Vicente Fox would be speaking from 8 to 10pm. We had two bullhorns at our disposal and we used them a lot. There were lots of signs and large American flags, as we stood behind an orange “border fence” at the edge of the little park. Across the street the Fox worshipers filed into the theater in the hour prior to his appearance.
A small group of white suburbanite thugs approached our group in a threatening way from across the street and they ended up mingling inside our “area” to cause trouble. The police presence was good but response was slow when trouble started. Several times we had to use the bullhorns to alert police that the thugs were mingling in our group. Several shouting matches ensued from their breach into our area. I estimate that the average age of these “thugs” dressed like skinheads were late teens. Ironic that is is for THEIR future that we fight. They shouted things like “I hate America” at us and of course, the usual “racists” accusations. They even called a dark skinned protestor with a mixed heritage from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, a racist.. laughable! Racist against who? Others like himself? Against white illegal aliens? The race thing is so.. passe…
At one point a limo pulled up to the theater which garnered lots of loud shouts against Fox. Later an SUV drove by waving a Mexican flag and they deposited a teenager who stood in front of our group waving his Mexican flag at us in defiance. Then the rest of his family, mostly Mexican moms with anchor babies on their hips, pulled up to the theater and stood our front waving Mexican flags at us. The police kept them on the theater side of things even though several times they wanted to cross the street.Around 8:30 and before the Mexican flag wavers showed up, it began to rain. At times it was downright nasty with wind blowing the rain in sheets.
Here is the first video from the protest - a collaboration between my shooting the video and Dan editing it for your YouTube viewing pleasure:
I was happy to stand shoulder to shoulder with many patriotic Americans who took several hours out of their Monday to show Vicente Fox he is NOT welcome in this country by everyone.
His propaganda is anti-American and we aren’t going to stand for his rhetoric that ultimately will lead to the dissolving of our borders, elimination of the “middle class” that this country was created by and the end of our
sovereignty as a nation. He says we shouldn’t be building walls but instead we should be building “bridges of love”.
How can we love our southern neighbor when they send millions of their poor people here to take American jobs and send the tax-free money they make back to the Mexican economy?Meanwhile, the American taxpayer foots the bill for expanding their schools to accomodate the flood of illegal alien children, while the media parades the illegal alien children in front of news cameras to try to evoke some kind of sympathy from us.
We are TIRED of footing the bill for the poor Mexican slaves that YOU Vicente Fox and YOU Felipe Calderon and YOU President Bush - want to import here for your own personal monetary gain. It does not benefit American citizens AT ALL to have Mexicans doing the menial jobs - the jobs that American teenagers used to do - that our lower class needy people used to do. Now they must compete with Mexicans for those same jobs and that is WRONG.
We do not buy your line of HORSE SHIT Vicente Fox. We will build that wall and you know why? Because YOU and the government of Mexico encourage your own people to risk their lives to come here illegally. You are complicit in the illegal behavior and even give them comic books to tell them how to evade the Border Patrol. You stick your Mexican noses into our politics by pushing for our own Border Patrol agents to be prosecuted using the testimony of a Mexican drug smuggler. How many of you scumbags are on the Mexican drug cartel payrolls eh Senor? You all make me SICK.
