What a surprise.. a bunch of traitor liberal “sanctuary movement” people endorse looking the other way when it comes to violating our current immigration laws. This further proves that our immigration laws ARE NOT BROKEN they are just being IGNORED. I don’t know how Sheriff Arpaio can tolerate living in such a bastion of stupidity as Phoenix.

A group that supports sanctuary and amnesty for illegal immigrants is backing Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris on the issue of whether local police should enforce immigration laws.

The New Sanctuary Movement — which has the backing of labor unions and liberal religious groups — has written Harris endorsing the Phoenix Police Department’s approach to immigration, which does not focus on immigration laws and the immigration status of those officers are dealing with.

Harris and the city have come under fire for those policies from those who favor tougher enforcement. Critics also claim that makes Phoenix a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants. The New Sanctuary Movement favors amnesty and sanctuary for many undocumented immigrants, especially those who may be fleeing persecution.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office does Focus on enforcing immigration laws and has been picking up illegal immigrants, migrant day laborers and human smugglers. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has jabbed at local police departments that do not take the same approach.

The immigration issue was magnified by two recent shootings of police officers (one of them fatal) by illegal immigrants from Mexico. That sparked criticism of Harris and Phoenix from conservative radio shows. Harris fired back in a newspaper opinion column saying radio hosts and other critics of the city’s enforcement rules were politicizing the fatal shooting.

I’ve got news for you Police Chief Harris. If the illegal alien who killed Nick Erfle HAD NOT BEEN HERE he might be alive today to be with his family. By promoting sanctuary policies for criminal illegal aliens you ENDANGER your entire police force AND the civilians of Phoenix. By it’s very nature, illegal immigration means we don’t know WHO is coming into our country in the backs of trucks or in the desert at night so you are allowing potential murderers, rapists and thieves to cross into our country and settle in Phoenix by ignoring our immigration laws. This is DERELICTION OF DUTY by a Police Chief who is supposed to be protecting citizens, not catering to a “sanctuary movement”. I charge YOU chief with politicizing by NOT enforcing Federal immigration laws. Does this mean that drug dealers are safe also in Phoenix because as you know, drug laws are also FEDERAL LAWS.

You don’t get to PICK AND CHOOSE which laws you want to enforce Police Chief Harris. You need to enforce ALL laws for ALL people in Phoenix. To not do so is a completely corrupt and heinous act against the citizens of Phoenix who expect to live their lives safely.
