Rally report from Mexican Consulate protest Philadelphia July 21st
July 21st, 2007It was a beautiful day to do just about anything in Philadelphia.. and standing around handing out flyers and carrying signs was not my first choice, but myself and four other patriots felt it was important to inform more people of the persecution of the two Border Agents as well as the other law enforcement victims of Johnny Sutton.
Digger and I hosted the protest held at the Bourse building in Philadelphia where the Mexican Consulate is located. We had Ray all the way from Reading and we had Harold and Cecilia Poole of Americans for Comprehensive Government Reform all the way from MARYLAND to stand with us. They also have a blog called On the Edge.
For the most part we had no opposition and most people either supported why we were there or were not really aware of the Compean/Ramos case so we did educate a few hundred more people between the bullhorn broadcasts and the flyers we handed out. We added a new Patriot to our ranks who was very enthusiastic about the cause - Joe from South Jersey. We hope to meet up with him again for more protests in the Philadelphia area.
Here are photos from the night before, where Digger and I were preparing signs just for the theme of protesting the Mexican government’s involvement in the persecution of the Border Agents as well as Gilmer Hernandez.

We had one group of students involved in some kind of International Leadership club who were part of a large tour group. Some of them were very interested in why we were there and some of them felt that we were the enemy for some reason and booed us when I held up the sign calling for illegal aliens to be deported. We were called bigots by some, even though we were supporting several Hispanic Border Patrol agents - clearly our bigotry apparently did not extend to Hispanics so I’m not sure what made them think that.

I’ll have some video posted soon from the rally today on youtube so check back for that…
After the work of the rally was over, the five of us went to a nice little restaurant for some relaxing conversation. We kept the “Kick Me I’m a Citizen” stickers on our backs even after the rally and at one point, a pedestrian behind us decided to test that out and lightly kicked Digger. Well he had forgotten that he had that sticker on his back so he didn’t react until he heard her say “I kicked him and he didn’t even seem to notice”.. heh… It’s kind of funny to walk around Independence Mall with those stickers on our backs..
In any case, I think we informed a lot of people about the travesty of justice regarding Compean and Ramos and also that Senator Feinstein and Cornyn agree with us after the hearings on July 17th and are calling for Bush to commute their sentences. Since the Main Stream Media chooses to bury these kinds of stories, our efforts serve to inform the public where the MSM is not so that is never wasted effort on our part.
Make sure to visit Digger’s post on the rally here.
