This week’s burst tells the story of Terry Funderburk, an American citizen nearly driven out of his profession by illegal aliens. His one man protest is a fairly good working definition of irony!
Digger slaved till the wee hours on this excellent report on the event that we both attended. Here are some excerpts. The full post with video of the entire press conference is here
It must be noted that not one single media outlet in Philadelphia felt this was important or interesting enough to attend. Legislators from all around the country were visiting our historic city and collaborating with Rep Metcalfe to actually do something about illegal immigration, unlike our Senators, and the Philadelphia media finds this not worthy of coverage? They should be ashamed of themselves. We are doing the job that they won’t do and proud of it.
Some excerpts from Digger’s post:
Pennsylvania state representative Daryl Metcalfe, the founder of State Legislators for Legal Immigration, led off with opening comments. He noted that over 60% of the states in this country, 30 states, are represented within the organization. Metcalfe pointed to the side of the National Constitution Center where it is engraved “We the People”.
“That’s what we’re joining here today about, is the demands of ‘We the People’” Metcalfe said “Here today in Philadelphia, the birthplace of our nation, … to call for a political revolution to do what ‘We the People’ have been demanding and stop the illegal alien invasion that is occurring on our soil.”

Seventeen state legislators from nine states came out today to stand up for legal immigration and against illegal immigration and the impact it is having on states across this country.

Mariann Davies of You Don’t Speak For Me gave a brief statement and told the legislators that they should be proud of their actions and not to allow those in favor of illegal immigration to make this a racial issue because it isn’t one. “Do not let the special interests speak for me or any American in this country.” Davies said “The people have spoken and you are listening”.

No event in Philadelphia on illegal immigration would be complete without the infamous and lovable Joey Vento! We are glad to have him on our side of this battle because he’s a great speaker and personality and he shoots right from the hip. He also loves the attention from patriotic women. He’s a real gentleman and praises his wife on a regular basis and he is a true Philadelphia patriot.
Well.. what do you think? Could it be he was afraid to use his official weapon because of US Attorneys like Johnny Sutton who prosecutes Border Agents under USC 924C - a gun statute created to increase the severity of a crime committed with a firearm?
