Illegal Protest

We had a glorious day of sunny weather for the Voice of the People USA rally at Hershey Lodge. It was a smallish gathering of 75-100 dedicated patriots who spent a beautiful day gathered with other patriotic Americans to continue the momentum to fight amnesty - because we just KNOW it’s coming back one way or another.. like a zombie that refuses to die.

Hershey was chosen because Republicans were gathered there in Hershey for a July 4th holiday thing where they had dinner the night before and went to Hershey Park. The event was held at Hershey Lodge. We gathered on a grassy area just off the parking lot at Hershey Lodge.

The MC was Gary Sutton , a local radio talk show host broadcasting from York, PA. The speakers included Frank Scavo of Voice of the People USA, John Clark of Americans for Immigration Control, Greg Griffin, Paul Topete of the band PokerFace, Gary Sutton, Mariann Davies of You Don’t Speak for Me, myself, Ron Smith’s son ( name not remembered at the moment) representing the Constitution Party and there was one unscheduled speaker from the audience - once I get his name I’ll post it.

The rally organizers also spoke - they are the three founders of Voice of the People USA - wonderful young guys who spend their own money putting these rallies together. They are Daniel Smerglio, Andrew Woodring and Michael Dianese.

All the speakers naturally basked in the glow of victory at the defeat of the SCAMNESTY bill S 1639 on Thursday, truly a historic turning point in our history. The voice of the people made the difference. Gary Sutton made a very good MC - being a talk show host he was quite glib and did a great job. I was particularly impressed with some of the younger speakers, Paul Topete and all three of the Voice of the People USA guys - all of them in their 20’s and doing a great job at speaking to a crowd - not an easy thing to do.

For the closing, Frank Scavo had an idea to sort of do a “conference call” to Arlen Specter’s voice mail so he dialed the Capitol Switchboard and held his phone to the PA microphone. We all gathered around an on cue at the start of the voice mail message, after Frank informed Senator Specter where we were gathered, we all shouted “NO MORE AMNESTY” twice in case he missed it the first time… Hilarious! I’m sure he won’t like THAT message!

Voice of the People USA plan a big rally for Harrisburg on September 1st also - on the steps of the State Capitol.  At today’s rally I circulated the Daryl Metcalfe Security Starts at Home petition to show support for his package of illegal immigration bills that are advancing in the Pennsylvania House now. Soon hopefully we will be pulling up the Welcome Mat from illegal aliens in Pennsylvania.
